Entertaining Angels: The Dorothy Day Story (1996)

Drama / Biography - Early 1900's New York - Dorothy Day is a human rights activist, leftist, and newspaper journalist during the depression. When she meets a dynamic and loving Catholic nun she is inspired to help the poor and homeless, not unlike the later Mother Theresa. Plenty of challenges. Fine acting, and though a little predictable, this story educates and entertains. 111 min.

Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998)

Awesome period piece - 16th Century France- Kings and Queens and Castles.. lovely costuming and scenery. The prince is in need of a bride and desires not the one chosen for him by his royal parents. Enter a smart talking and courageous peasant girl. Fine acting all around, and a delightful mix of drama with comedic element. Drew Barrymore is outstanding. 121 min.
